Remembering Steve Attix: A Tribute to a Beloved Lewis Builder Family Member

Steve Attix

It is with heavy hearts that we at Lewis Builders share the news of the untimely passing of Steve Attix, a revered member of our team whose sudden departure has left us all with a profound sense of loss. Steve joined the Lewis Builder (LB) family as a Project Engineer, bringing with him not just an unmatched skill set in construction but a radiant personality that made him a beloved figure among his colleagues and friends.

Steve's journey with us, though brief, was marked by his unwavering passion and dedication to his work. He demonstrated an enthusiasm and love for his role that resonated deeply within our team. His decision to join Lewis Builders, over other opportunities, was driven by his desire for a supportive team and a culture that valued collaboration and innovation—values he lived by every day.

His background was as diverse as it was impressive. Steve was a master craftsman for 40 + years, specializing in wood and metal using time-honored techniques. Having spent 23 years in Raleigh, North Carolina, before moving back to Aptos to be closer to his wife's family, Steve's career was adorned with achievements and experiences that spoke volumes of his expertise, passion for learning, and hands-on approach to construction. From building parade floats to holding a paramedic certification, Steve was a man of many talents and passions.

What truly set Steve apart was his genuine, open heart. Whether it was expressing his love for his family, engaging in playful banter with colleagues, or helping others achieve their goals and dreams, Steve did so with transparency and warmth. His 22 year love story with his wife Alli, described as love at first sight, and his devotion to his family, including the four children from his first marriage, showcased a man who valued love and relationships above all else.

Steve's presence at Lewis Builders was a gift—a testament to the power of passion, teamwork, and the joy of living one's values openly and proudly. As we come to terms with this loss, we also choose to celebrate Steve's life and the countless ways he touched ours. His legacy at LB and within our community will be cherished and remembered, a reminder of the impact one individual can have through kindness, professionalism, and a genuine spirit of collaboration.

As we say goodbye to Steve, our thoughts are with his wife Alli, their family, and everyone whose life was brightened by his presence. Steve Attix was more than a colleague; he was a friend, a mentor, and a source of inspiration. His memory will continue to guide us at Lewis Builders as we strive to embody the values he lived by.

Steve, you will be deeply missed but your spirit will forever remain a part of the LB family.
