From breathtaking tilework and stunning lighting fixtures, to art-inspired sinks and modern materials, our team recently had the chance to get up close and personal with some of the coolest interior elements we’ve ever seen at Design & Construction Week’s Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) and International Builders’ Show (IBS) in Las Vegas. These events, which celebrated their tenth year of co-location, are our favorite places to get inspired by the latest trends, talk with vendors, and exchange insights with some of the best talent in our industry. By the show's end, our designers are bursting with ideas that we can’t wait to integrate into upcoming projects.
Self-care sanctuaries were showcased throughout the event. From artisan-style sinks crafted to resemble natural rock, to transformative mosaic tile, we saw many bathroom vignettes purposefully designed with finishes to create a luxurious, yet soothing and spa-like experience.
In keeping with the self-care trend, we saw many examples of the “coastal grandmother” style kitchen, the hallmark of which is a breezy, laid-back aesthetic that is an elegant fusion of farmhouse and beach house styles, with a high emphasis placed on comfort.
“This was my 5th year attending DCW and this one by far was the most thoughtful,” said Cari Hill, Lewis’ Director of Interior Design. “We connected with our vendor partners all across the region, were stunned by innovation and design and explored the showroom floor intentionally seeking knowledge and expertise. I left feeling inspired and excited about integrating that spirit into our designs.”
Valerie Chang, Interior Designer at Lewis Builders agreed, saying, "Experiencing 2023 KBIS and IBS was all about intention and inspiration. I was able to absorb all the wonderful new and upgraded products, while keeping in mind LB projects currently in the design phase and how certain products could be integrated into future projects as well. For designers, inspiration is fuel. Having so many sources of inspiration, including the displays themselves, in one physical place is an experience like no other."
These events were such a great reminder for us that when it comes to design, the possibilities truly are endless.
